今天的主角，是兩位以Mallory醫生為名，命名的醫學詞匯 。
無論是國內還是國外的病理課，尤其是國內病理的消化系統部分，總會毫無懸念地花超級大的篇幅講肝病，肝癌 。其中，酒精肝的病理表現為出現Mallory body (damaged cytokeratin filaments, necrosis and acute inflammation).

如果這人大量酗酒，就很有可能造成一個叫做Mallory-Weiss syndrome, 其臨床表現為大量的嘔吐 。

Frank Burr Mallory (1862–1941) was an American pathologist at the Boston city hospital and Professor of Pathology at Harvard Medical School, after whom the Mallory body is named.
He receives his medical degree in Harvard Medical school in 1890. In 1893 he traveled to Europe to train under Hans Chiari (沒錯，這個大神就是命名脊髓發育異常的那個Chiari!).
His contributions in the field of pathology included improving techniques and standardization of tissue staining; his book, written with James Homer Wright, (即neuroblastoma里的Homer Wright Rosettes) was the standard textbook in this field.
真是…神仙打架！不過怎么看了半天詞條沒看見Mallory-Weiss syndrome呢？于是把這個綜合征進行查詢之后，居然發現了另一個Mallory！

George Kenneth Mallory (1900–1986) was an American pathologist chiefly remembered for describing the Mallory-Weiss Syndrome.
He receives his medical degree in Harvard Medical school in 1926, and subsequently worked at the Mallory Institute of Pathology (founded by, and named after, his father).
